Surah Al-Ikhlas


Surah Al-Ikhlas (The Sincerity) is the 112. surah in Quran.Al-Ikhlas surah is listed as the 22. by revelation order.

It is considered to be a Meccan Surah as it was believed to be revealed in Mecca. However there is a dispute whether this is a Meccan or Medinan surah. 

Surah Ikhlas is one of two surahs where its name is not derived from the content but instead describes the main theme or subject matter of the Surah. 

This surah confirms the oneness of God. God has no equal. God is the source and sustainer of all existence. God has always been and always shall be .God was never born, God has no offspring nor partner. God never had any equal and never will have.

112:1
Say, "He is Allāh, [who is] One,
Qul huwal laahu ahad
قل هو ٱلله أحد
112:2
Allāh, the Eternal Refuge.
Allah hus-samad
ٱلله ٱلصمد
112:3
He neither begets nor is born,
Lam yalid wa lam yoolad
لم يلد ولم يولد
112:4
Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
Wa lam yakul-lahoo kufuwan ahad (section 1)
ولم يكن لهۥ كفوا أحد
