the Shaitaan

an enemy

severe

righteous deeds

(will be) forgiveness

maghfiratun (مَغْفِرَةٌ)

and a reward

wa-ajrun (وَأَجْرٌ)

Then is (he) who

afaman (أَفَمَنْ)

is made fair-seeming

zuyyina (زُيِّنَ)

to him

(the) evil

(of) his deed

ʿamalihi (عَمَلِهِ)

so that he sees it

(as) good

ḥasanan (حَسَنًا)

For indeed

Allah

lets go astray

He wills

and guides

the winds

so that they raise

(the) clouds

saḥāban (سَحَابًا)

and We drive them

fasuq'nāhu (فَسُقْنَاهُ)

a land

baladin (بَلَدٍ)

dead

and We revive

therewith

the earth

(will be) the Resurrection

the honor

And they swore

wa-aqsamū (وَأَقْسَمُوا)

(the) strongest

(of) their oaths

aymānihim (أَيْمَانِهِمْ)

that if

la-in (لَئِنْ)

came to them

jāahum (جَاءَهُمْ)

a warner

nadhīrun (نَذِيرٌ)

35:42:8

surely they would be

layakūnunna (لَيَكُونُنَّ)

35:42:9

more guided

ahdā (أَهْدَى)

than

min (مِنْ)

35:42:11

any

iḥ'dā (إِحْدَى)

ا ح د (root)

(of) the nations

l-umami (الْأُمَمِ)

But when

falammā (فَلَمَّا)

came to them

jāahum (جَاءَهُمْ)

a warner

nadhīrun (نَذِيرٌ)

35:42:16

not

mā (مَا)

35:42:17

it increased them

zādahum (زَادَهُمْ)

35:42:18

but

illā (إِلَّا)

35:42:19

(in) aversion

nufūran (نُفُورًا)

ن ف ر (root)

(Due to) arrogance

is'tik'bāran (اسْتِكْبَارًا)

ك ب ر (root)

in

fī (فِي)

35:43:3

the land

l-arḍi (الْأَرْضِ)

35:43:4

and plotting

wamakra (وَمَكْرَ)

35:43:5

(of) the evil

l-sayi-i (السَّيِّئِ)

35:43:6

but not

walā (وَلَا)

35:43:7

encompasses

yaḥīqu (يَحِيقُ)

ح ى ق (root)

35:43:8

the plot

l-makru (الْمَكْرُ)

35:43:9

(of) the evil

l-sayi-u (السَّيِّئُ)

35:43:10

except

illā (إِلَّا)

35:43:11

its own people

bi-ahlihi (بِأَهْلِهِ)

Then do

fahal (فَهَلْ)

they wait

yanẓurūna (يَنْظُرُونَ)

except

illā (إِلَّا)

(the) way

sunnata (سُنَّتَ)

(of) the former (people)

you will find

tajida (تَجِدَ)

in (the) way

lisunnati (لِسُنَّتِ)

(of) Allah

any change

tabdīlan (تَبْدِيلًا)

and never

walan (وَلَنْ)

you will find

tajida (تَجِدَ)

in (the) way

lisunnati (لِسُنَّتِ)

(of) Allah

any alteration

taḥwīlan (تَحْوِيلًا)

Have they not

awalam (أَوَلَمْ)

traveled

the land

and seen

fayanẓurū (فَيَنْظُرُوا)

(the) end

ʿāqibatu (عَاقِبَةُ)

qablihim (قَبْلِهِمْ)

And they were

stronger

ashadda (أَشَدَّ)

than them

(in) power

quwwatan (قُوَّةً)

But not

wamā (وَمَا)

is

kāna (كَانَ)

Allah

l-lahu (اللَّهُ)

that can escape (from) Him

liyuʿ'jizahu (لِيُعْجِزَهُ)

the heavens

l-samāwāti (السَّمَاوَاتِ)

walā (وَلَا)

the earth

Indeed He

innahu (إِنَّهُ)

is

kāna (كَانَ)

All-Knower

ʿalīman (عَلِيمًا)

All-Powerful

qadīran (قَدِيرًا)

Allah

then indeed

fa-inna (فَإِنَّ)

Allah
