righteous deeds

l-ṣāliḥāti (الصَّالِحَاتِ)

47:2:5

and believe

waāmanū (وَءَامَنُوا)

in what

is revealed

nuzzila (نُزِّلَ)

to

from them

their misdeeds

and improve

their condition

those who

disbelieve

falsehood

l-bāṭila (الْبَاطِلَ)

believe

follow

to the people

their similitudes

you meet

those who

alladhīna (الَّذِينَ)

disbelieve

kafarū (كَفَرُوا)

then strike

faḍarba (فَضَرْبَ)

the necks

until

ḥattā (حَتَّى)

when

you have subdued them

then bind firmly

a favor

its burdens

had willed

Allah

surely He could have taken retribution

la-intaṣara (لَانْتَصَرَ)

47:4:26

from them

min'hum (مِنْهُمْ)

47:4:27

but

walākin (وَلَكِنْ)

to test

liyabluwā (لِيَبْلُوَا)

some of you

baʿḍakum (بَعْضَكُمْ)

with others

bibaʿḍin (بِبَعْضٍ)

47:4:31

And those who

wa-alladhīna (وَالَّذِينَ)

47:4:32

are killed

qutilū (قُتِلُوا)

in

fī (فِي)

(the) way

sabīli (سَبِيلِ)

(of) Allah

l-lahi (اللَّهِ)

then never

falan (فَلَنْ)

He will cause to be lost

yuḍilla (يُضِلَّ)

their deeds

aʿmālahum (أَعْمَالَهُمْ)

He will guide them

sayahdīhim (سَيَهْدِيهِمْ)

and improve

their condition

you help

Allah

He will help you

yanṣur'kum (يَنْصُرْكُمْ)

and make firm

wayuthabbit (وَيُثَبِّتْ)

your feet

But those who

wa-alladhīna (وَالَّذِينَ)

disbelieve

destruction (is)

fataʿsan (فَتَعْسًا)

for them

47:8:5

and He will cause to be lost

wa-aḍalla (وَأَضَلَّ)

their deeds

(is) because they

bi-annahum (بِأَنَّهُمْ)

hate

Allah has revealed

Allah

so He has made worthless

their deeds

Do not

afalam (أَفَلَمْ)

they travel

the earth

(is) because

Allah

(is the) Protector

mawlā (مَوْلَى)

47:11:5

(of) those who

alladhīna (الَّذِينَ)

47:11:6

believe

āmanū (ءَامَنُوا)

47:11:7

and that

wa-anna (وَأَنَّ)

47:11:8

the disbelievers

l-kāfirīna (الْكَافِرِينَ)

47:11:9

(there is) no

lā (لَا)

47:11:10

protector

mawlā (مَوْلَى)

47:11:11

for them

lahum (لَهُمْ)

47:12:1

Indeed

inna (إِنَّ)

47:12:2

Allah

l-laha (اللَّهَ)

will admit

yud'khilu (يُدْخِلُ)

those who

believe

righteous deeds

(to) Gardens

the rivers

disbelieve

they enjoy

yatamattaʿūna (يَتَمَتَّعُونَ)

and eat

and the Fire

(will be) an abode

for them

lahum (لَهُمْ)

waka-ayyin (وَكَأَيِّنْ)

a town

qaryatin (قَرْيَةٍ)

which

hiya (هِيَ)

(was) stronger

(in) strength

quwwatan (قُوَّةً)

your town

qaryatika (قَرْيَتِكَ)

has driven you out

We destroyed them

ahlaknāhum (أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ)

so no

helper

nāṣira (نَاصِرَ)

for them

lahum (لَهُمْ)

Then is (he) who

afaman (أَفَمَنْ)

on

a clear proof

bayyinatin (بَيِّنَةٍ)

his Lord

is made attractive

to him

(the) evil

(of) his deeds

their desires

A parable

(of) Paradise

polluted

milk

(are some) who

man (مَنْ)

listen

to you

until

ḥattā (حَتَّى)

when

they depart

kharajū (خَرَجُوا)

you

ʿindika (عِنْدِكَ)

they say

to those who

the knowledge

has set a seal

Allah

upon

their hearts

qulūbihim (قُلُوبِهِمْ)

47:16:23

and they follow

wa-ittabaʿū (وَاتَّبَعُوا)

47:16:24

their desires

ahwāahum (أَهْوَاءَهُمْ)

And those who

wa-alladhīna (وَالَّذِينَ)

47:17:2

accept guidance

ih'tadaw (اهْتَدَوْا)

47:17:3

He increases them

zādahum (زَادَهُمْ)

(in) guidance

hudan (هُدًى)

47:17:5

and gives them

waātāhum (وَءَاتَاهُمْ)

47:17:6

their righteousness

taqwāhum (تَقْوَاهُمْ)

Then do

fahal (فَهَلْ)

47:18:2

they wait

yanẓurūna (يَنْظُرُونَ)

47:18:3

but

illā (إِلَّا)

(for) the Hour

l-sāʿata (السَّاعَةَ)

47:18:5

that

an (أَنْ)

47:18:6

it should come to them

tatiyahum (تَأْتِيَهُمْ)

47:18:7

suddenly

baghtatan (بَغْتَةً)

47:18:8

But indeed

faqad (فَقَدْ)

47:18:9

have come

jāa (جَاءَ)

ج ى ا (root)

47:18:10

its indications

ashrāṭuhā (أَشْرَاطُهَا)

Then how

fa-annā (فَأَنَّى)

to them

lahum (لَهُمْ)

47:18:13

when

idhā (إِذَا)

47:18:14

has come to them

jāathum (جَاءَتْهُمْ)

47:18:15

their reminder

dhik'rāhum (ذِكْرَاهُمْ)

ذ ك ر (root)

47:19:1

So know

fa-iʿ'lam (فَاعْلَمْ)

47:19:2

that [He]

annahu (أَنَّهُ)

47:19:3

(there is) no

lā (لَا)

47:19:4

god

ilāha (إِلَهَ)

47:19:5

but

illā (إِلَّا)

ا ل ل ا (root)

47:19:6

Allah

l-lahu (اللَّهُ)

47:19:7

and ask forgiveness

wa-is'taghfir (وَاسْتَغْفِرْ)

47:19:8

for your sin

lidhanbika (لِذَنْبِكَ)

ذ ن ب (root)

47:19:9

and for the believing men

walil'mu'minīna (وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ)

47:19:10

and the believing women

wal-mu'mināti (وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ)

47:19:11

And Allah

wal-lahu (وَاللَّهُ)

47:19:12

knows

yaʿlamu (يَعْلَمُ)

47:19:13

your movement

mutaqallabakum (مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ)

47:19:14

and your resting places

wamathwākum (وَمَثْوَاكُمْ)

And say

wayaqūlu (وَيَقُولُ)

47:20:2

those who

alladhīna (الَّذِينَ)

47:20:3

believe

āmanū (ءَامَنُوا)

47:20:4

Why not

lawlā (لَوْلَا)

has been revealed

nuzzilat (نُزِّلَتْ)

47:20:6

a Surah

sūratun (سُورَةٌ)

is revealed

a Surah

precise

and is mentioned

the fighting

(of) fainting

over them

the death

But more appropriate

for them

lahum (لَهُمْ)

(Is) obedience

ṭāʿatun (طَاعَةٌ)

47:21:2

and a word

waqawlun (وَقَوْلٌ)

47:21:3

kind

maʿrūfun (مَعْرُوفٌ)

47:21:4

And when

fa-idhā (فَإِذَا)

47:21:5

(is) determined

ʿazama (عَزَمَ)

the matter

l-amru (الْأَمْرُ)

then if

they had been true

ṣadaqū (صَدَقُوا)

(to) Allah

surely it would have been

better

for them

your ties of kinship

arḥāmakum (أَرْحَامَكُمْ)

Those

ulāika (أُولَئِكَ)

ا و ل ا (root)

(are) the ones

alladhīna (الَّذِينَ)

47:23:3

has cursed them

laʿanahumu (لَعَنَهُمُ)

Allah

l-lahu (اللَّهُ)

47:23:5

so He made them deaf

fa-aṣammahum (فَأَصَمَّهُمْ)

and blinded

wa-aʿmā (وَأَعْمَى)

47:23:7

their vision

abṣārahum (أَبْصَارَهُمْ)

Then do not

afalā (أَفَلَا)

they ponder

yatadabbarūna (يَتَدَبَّرُونَ)

(over) the Quran

upon

(their) hearts

(are) locks

Indeed

inna (إِنَّ)

those who

alladhīna (الَّذِينَ)

47:25:3

return

their backs

adbārihim (أَدْبَارِهِمْ)

(has) become clear

tabayyana (تَبَيَّنَ)

(of) the guidance

Shaitaan

l-shayṭānu (الشَّيْطَانُ)

enticed

sawwala (سَوَّلَ)

[for] them

lahum (لَهُمْ)

47:25:15

and prolonged hope

wa-amlā (وَأَمْلَى)

for them

(is) because they

bi-annahum (بِأَنَّهُمْ)

47:26:3

[they] said

qālū (قَالُوا)

to those who

lilladhīna (لِلَّذِينَ)

47:26:5

hate

karihū (كَرِهُوا)

what

mā (مَا)

47:26:7

has revealed

nazzala (نَزَّلَ)

47:26:8

Allah

l-lahu (اللَّهُ)

We will obey you

sanuṭīʿukum (سَنُطِيعُكُمْ)

in

part

baʿḍi (بَعْضِ)

(of) the matter

l-amri (الْأَمْرِ)

But Allah

their secrets

take them in death

tawaffathumu (تَوَفَّتْهُمُ)

the Angels

l-malāikatu (الْمَلَائِكَةُ)

striking

yaḍribūna (يَضْرِبُونَ)

their faces

wujūhahum (وُجُوهَهُمْ)

and their backs

wa-adbārahum (وَأَدْبَارَهُمْ)

(is) because they

bi-annahumu (بِأَنَّهُمُ)

followed

ittabaʿū (اتَّبَعُوا)

what

angered

askhaṭa (أَسْخَطَ)

Allah

l-laha (اللَّهَ)

and hated

wakarihū (وَكَرِهُوا)

His pleasure

riḍ'wānahu (رِضْوَانَهُ)

so He made worthless

fa-aḥbaṭa (فَأَحْبَطَ)

their deeds

aʿmālahum (أَعْمَالَهُمْ)

47:29:1

Or do

am (أَمْ)

think

ḥasiba (حَسِبَ)

those who

alladhīna (الَّذِينَ)

in

fī (فِي)

their hearts

qulūbihim (قُلُوبِهِمْ)

(is) a disease

maraḍun (مَرَضٌ)

that

an (أَنْ)

47:29:8

never

lan (لَنْ)

will bring forth

yukh'rija (يُخْرِجَ)

47:29:10

Allah

l-lahu (اللَّهُ)

their hatred

aḍghānahum (أَضْغَانَهُمْ)

And if

walaw (وَلَوْ)

We willed

nashāu (نَشَاءُ)

surely We could show them to you

la-araynākahum (لَأَرَيْنَاكَهُمْ)

and you would know them

falaʿaraftahum (فَلَعَرَفْتَهُمْ)

47:30:5

by their marks

bisīmāhum (بِسِيمَاهُمْ)

but surely you will know them

walataʿrifannahum (وَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ)

47:30:7

by

fī (فِي)

47:30:8

(the) tone

laḥni (لَحْنِ)

47:30:9

(of their) speech

l-qawli (الْقَوْلِ)

47:30:10

And Allah

wal-lahu (وَاللَّهُ)

47:30:11

knows

yaʿlamu (يَعْلَمُ)

47:30:12

your deeds

aʿmālakum (أَعْمَالَكُمْ)

47:31:1

And surely We will test you

walanabluwannakum (وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ)

ḥattā (حَتَّى)

47:31:3

We make evident

naʿlama (نَعْلَمَ)

47:31:4

those who strive

l-mujāhidīna (الْمُجَاهِدِينَ)

among you

minkum (مِنْكُمْ)

47:31:6

and the patient ones

wal-ṣābirīna (وَالصَّابِرِينَ)

ص ب ر (root)

and We will test

wanabluwā (وَنَبْلُوَا)

your affairs

akhbārakum (أَخْبَارَكُمْ)

Indeed

inna (إِنَّ)

those who

alladhīna (الَّذِينَ)

47:32:3

disbelieve

kafarū (كَفَرُوا)

47:32:4

and turn away

waṣaddū (وَصَدُّوا)

from

ʿan (عَنْ)

47:32:6

(the) way

sabīli (سَبِيلِ)

47:32:7

(of) Allah

l-lahi (اللَّهِ)

47:32:8

and oppose

washāqqū (وَشَاقُّوا)

the Messenger

l-rasūla (الرَّسُولَ)

(has been) made clear

will they harm

(in) anything

shayan (شَيْئًا)

and He will make worthless

wasayuḥ'biṭu (وَسَيُحْبِطُ)

their deeds

O you

yāayyuhā (يَاأَيُّهَا)

alladhīna (الَّذِينَ)

believe

āmanū (ءَامَنُوا)

Obey

aṭīʿū (أَطِيعُوا)

Allah

and obey

wa-aṭīʿū (وَأَطِيعُوا)

the Messenger

and (do) not

walā (وَلَا)

make vain

tub'ṭilū (تُبْطِلُوا)

your deeds

aʿmālakum (أَعْمَالَكُمْ)

Indeed

inna (إِنَّ)

those who

alladhīna (الَّذِينَ)

47:34:3

disbelieve

kafarū (كَفَرُوا)

and turn away

waṣaddū (وَصَدُّوا)

(the) way

sabīli (سَبِيلِ)

(of) Allah

while they

(were) disbelievers

falan (فَلَنْ)

will forgive

yaghfira (يَغْفِرَ)

Allah

them

lahum (لَهُمْ)

So (do) not

falā (فَلَا)

47:35:2

weaken

tahinū (تَهِنُوا)

and call

watadʿū (وَتَدْعُوا)

for

ilā (إِلَى)

peace

l-salmi (السَّلْمِ)

while you

wa-antumu (وَأَنْتُمُ)

(are) superior

l-aʿlawna (الْأَعْلَوْنَ)

47:35:8

and Allah

wal-lahu (وَاللَّهُ)

47:35:9

(is) with you

maʿakum (مَعَكُمْ)

47:35:10

and never

walan (وَلَنْ)

47:35:11

will deprive you

yatirakum (يَتِرَكُمْ)

(of) your deeds

aʿmālakum (أَعْمَالَكُمْ)

Only

innamā (إِنَّمَا)

the life

l-ḥayatu (الْحَيَوةُ)

(of) the world

l-dun'yā (الدُّنْيَا)

(is) play

laʿibun (لَعِبٌ)

and amusement

walahwun (وَلَهْوٌ)

And if

wa-in (وَإِنْ)

47:36:7

you believe

tu'minū (تُؤْمِنُوا)

47:36:8

and fear (Allah)

watattaqū (وَتَتَّقُوا)

و ق ى (root)

47:36:9

He will give you

yu'tikum (يُؤْتِكُمْ)

47:36:10

your rewards

ujūrakum (أُجُورَكُمْ)

ا ج ر (root)

47:36:11

and not

walā (وَلَا)

47:36:12

will ask you

yasalkum (يَسْءَلْكُمْ)

س ا ل (root)

47:36:13

(for) your wealth

amwālakum (أَمْوَالَكُمْ)

م و ل (root)

47:37:1

If

in (إِنْ)

47:37:2

He were to ask you for it

yasalkumūhā (يَسْءَلْكُمُوهَا)

47:37:3

and press you

fayuḥ'fikum (فَيُحْفِكُمْ)

47:37:4

you will withhold

tabkhalū (تَبْخَلُوا)

47:37:5

and He will bring forth

wayukh'rij (وَيُخْرِجْ)

47:37:6

your hatred

aḍghānakum (أَضْغَانَكُمْ)

Here you are

hāantum (هَاأَنْتُمْ)

hāulāi (هَؤُلَاءِ)

tud'ʿawna (تُدْعَوْنَ)

to spend

litunfiqū (لِتُنْفِقُوا)

(the) way

sabīli (سَبِيلِ)

(of) Allah

but among you

faminkum (فَمِنْكُمْ)

47:38:9

(are some) who

man (مَنْ)

47:38:10

withhold

yabkhalu (يَبْخَلُ)

47:38:11

and whoever

waman (وَمَنْ)

47:38:12

withholds

yabkhal (يَبْخَلْ)

47:38:13

then only

fa-innamā (فَإِنَّمَا)

ا ن ن م (root)

47:38:14

he withholds

yabkhalu (يَبْخَلُ)

47:38:15

from

ʿan (عَنْ)

47:38:16

himself

nafsihi (نَفْسِهِ)

ن ف س (root)

47:38:17

But Allah

wal-lahu (وَاللَّهُ)

47:38:18

(is) Free of need

l-ghaniyu (الْغَنِيُّ)

47:38:19

while you

wa-antumu (وَأَنْتُمُ)

ا ن ت م (root)

47:38:20

(are) the needy

l-fuqarāu (الْفُقَرَاءُ)

ف ق ر (root)

47:38:21

And if

wa-in (وَإِنْ)

47:38:22

you turn away

tatawallaw (تَتَوَلَّوْا)

47:38:23

He will replace you

yastabdil (يَسْتَبْدِلْ)

(with) a people

qawman (قَوْمًا)

ق و م (root)

47:38:25

other than you

ghayrakum (غَيْرَكُمْ)

then

thumma (ثُمَّ)

not

lā (لَا)

47:38:28

they will be

yakūnū (يَكُونُوا)

(the) likes of you

amthālakum (أَمْثَالَكُمْ)
