This surah reminds us that all humans are lost. The loss here is not only about this world but the next world as well. People who believe and do righteous deeds, a description used many times in the Quran, are the people exempt from this as they have found guidance and true meaning of existence by God.

وٱلعصر

Indeed, mankind is in loss,
Innal insaana lafee khusr
إن ٱلإنسـن لفى خسر
103:3
Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
Illal lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati wa tawaasaw bilhaqqi wa tawaasaw bissabr
إلا ٱلذين ءامنوا وعملوا ٱلصـلحـت وتواصوا بٱلحق وتواصوا بٱلصبر
